when i click on stand by it merely last a couple of minutes and next turns itself on again.Why?

Stand by is extremely sensitive. It will reactivate with the slightest movement of your mouse. If you are sitting at you computer and waiting to see what happen, odds are you are bumping the desk or the mouse cord, or something.
if u in recent times sit and watch the mouse-pointer on peak it moves a fraction every so often ,this is satisfactory to wake the workstation out of standby,leave the mouse on a bit of cloth and it will not move(ball)
