When will entry smooth Direct X 10 video cards become available?

It's time to upgrade my behind the times system's video card and want to be able to play subsequent gen games on it but don't want to spend $400.

When will entry smooth Direct X 10 video cards become available?

Probably have to lurk till this summer, or hopefully ATI will get their R600 cards out to drive Nvidia's current monopoly prices down.
Just to tolerate you know, many upcoming games still support DirectX 9 (Crysis, etc.), at least possible until DirectX 10 is widely accepted. Not everyone will go and get a new video card within the next couple of months, so hobby developers will take that into depiction.

DirectX 10 has lately been released. ATI have not released their cards yet, so the unadulterated price drop will not come for a while. Nvidia is supposed to release mid-range Directx 10 cards in a few months, but entry-level cards will not be released for a while. After adjectives, Nvidia still has its 7600 gs, 7950 gt, etc. cards that are still on the marketplace.
