when i place a cd within the cd rom, the computer does not recognise it.?

i see my floppy disc drive when i dance to my computer, but i do not see the cd drive.

Have you gone to the Device Driver to see if it is working correctly?

R-cl on the item to be checked. Click Properties.

That will tell you if the item is working properly.



To update the driver:

Start, Settings, Control Panel, System, Hardward, Device Driver

click the god for the item you want

click the “update driver” button on the toolbar.
there is a odds setting you can activate that enable your computer to automatically run an inserted CD. you can see this feature or you can step to "My Computer" and select the drive that you put the CD into.
