I enjoy a Dell laptop (Latitude) and my problem is that the external CD-ROM has a cable that have a very different finish of the cable compared to devices. Most devices like external not easy drives have a USB end. Well, I can only connect that external cd drive to my current Latitude laptop but I can't connect it to my older laptop, also Dell, because it doesn't own the same plug. I be wondering if there is a short "connector" cable out in attendance that has one USB climax and the other would connect to my external drive. The ending from my external looks similar to 2 USB endings combined together ... the following relationship is the closest picture that I found of my drive however I couldn't find anything that would zoom in on this cable. if your motherbord have an IDE2 port, connect Primary HD and Primary ROM Drive to IDE1 with a primary, slave IDE cable. And merge another HD to IDE2 port with a single cable. Don't forget to set pullover settings and BIOS.

Add another PCI EIDE I\O card. They are strictly cheap, and in most cases plug n' play.
Whatever you do, do not attach a hard drive to a EIDE direct with a CD\DVD on it. The warren will run at the much slower speed of the ROM drive.

Visit your local Freecycle group online and team up. Freecycle.org. You can then push them(and anything else you no longer want) to local people. Someone will want them. you impart them free.Its a great way to recycle and save landfill

Clink on the Email god and it will pull up Outlook Express. Then if you are on the internet it will afford you your current emails. I'm not sure if that is exactly what you are asking, but I hope it help.

Make sure your hidden files and folders are showing:
Open My Computer

I only just saw a demo of speech recognition software that be outstanding. I had a peddler in at work this week and he be demo'ing there hottest software and it was the best I enjoy seen to date. It be able to hold up with average speech patterns, not have to speak in a slow monotone voice, and you want to chat about accurate! I work contained by IT at a law firm and I know the secretaries would not be thrilled if we purchased this software. It integrated near all of out apps, and we enjoy over 300 of them.
the government have one I'm sure of this, when they release it to civilians I'm not sure but the way things are going it may be soon.

2. once you catch the files copied (it seems resembling you are installing windows but dont verbs you are not) and when it asks you to press either enter or R consequently press "enter"
3. Now on this screen press R (or you will reinstall) presently you will have a repair resort go ahead and repair the installation and again start using your computer
You could check to see if you own a bad tough drive or motherboard. Jesus saves and God bless.

When the spash screen (IBM, Dell, etc.) press F8. That should bring up a menu offering to boot into Safe Mode. Boot into Safe Mode (if you can of course) and afterwards, if you can get surrounded by there, try restarting the system and see if it will boot properly. All electronic devices have MTBF (Max Time Before Failure). I found out that most of my computer stuff go wrong at around 2 years of service. I suggest you replace your HD before you start loosing meaningful data.

The Sims 2 have 4 disks and when I put the first one in it installs and next it says insert 2nd disk so I thieve out the first and put in the second I can hear the computer start to spin the disk and consequently it just stops. I don't know how to fix this if anyone know how please let me know. This is a brand topical computer; I don't know if that would affect it.

Sometimes when I type something near my keyboard it doesn't show up on the blind until seconds latter. It happens slightly a bit and I don't know what is causing this. I use XP and my the ivories is a HP that came near my HP Pavilion computer. Is there something wrong next to my keyboard or computer? Help! This is so annoying and I'm sick of it taking place. :(

Boot it up as a secondary, adapt the jumpers on the vertebrae of your HDD to secondary, and put another disk contained by as the primary (you will need to install an OS.)

I only just installed a hard drive, the computer boots up correctly but when I try to access the info within now drive H: it say that the drive is not formatted. I go ahead and format it and the process seem to be unresponsive. I tried the command prompt and it stays as 0 % forever in "Verifying disk". I get this drive from I friend that had it surrounded by his car for months. Is it possible that the warmth (live in Miami) and the movements messed the tough drive?

Although the above answer is the most potential and I'm pretty sure is the problem there is also the possibility it is a virtual drive intent its a drive that doesn't really exist psychically but your computer treats it as a drive if you didn't do it yourself sometimes newly installed software will install a virtual drive although i would look into the first answer since you think nearly this possibility.

I would nickname whoever fixed it. They should have closed the cover properly and should be still responsible. At tiniest they can tell you how to solve the problem over the phone step by step.

* eventhough the power supply to the computer is supplied by SMPS (switching mode power supply) the power have to be passed through the MOTHER BOARD . so there are 3 probability for occurrence of ur problem .
1.) firstly the problem may deceit on the power button of ur cabinet. try to remove ur cabinet door and slightly test the switch button of the power supply . be sure the POWER supply is OFF.
2). secondly the problem may flop on ur SMPS. and dont remove the screws of smps. simply cart it to ur nearest hardware shop.

Well, I have found that the easiest approach to do this without using software or network both computers is to create a folder on your hard drive call transfer. In this folder you can create sub-folders call my documents, my music, mp pictures. Back all of your background onto a cd-rom or dvd-rom and load it onto your tentative hard drive. Simple!

It won't hurt anything that you hold, it only puts things stern in average order sort of similar to the librarian putting all accounts back at the stop of a very busy afternoon. It also cleans up the computer files and makes it run more effeciently and speeds mine up. It take a while if you haven't done it yet. Just engineer sure nothing else is running at the time. I usually do mine when I budge to bed.

80% Red system the drive is seriously fragmented. You should not see scattered red after the drive is defragged. Are you letting it run it's full course? A rightly large sturdy drive (40Gb and larger) can take up to an hour to defrag next to Windows defragger. I can recommend the free Auslogics Disk Defrag, which I use weekly. It defrags my HD in 10-20 minutes, and it take Windows over an hour to defrag. You get a "pie chart" look at your concrete drive before it starts, so you know how much of your drive is fragmented.

Red is the fragmented portion. You should defrag this drive. The use it is red is because the file (for example is 5000 bytes long) is spread out among a few a variety of locations on your drive, making it more difficult for the system to read it in a timely behaviour. Defragmenting causes it to move the record into a more readable "position" on the drive.
I use Diskeeper which embeds into Windows, and the red areas are : fragmented files and folders.
In Other words it's pieces of notes that is not placed surrounded by the best location on the disk compared to related pieces of data.
Fragmenting the drive will bring this facts closer together.

It is not a discouraging practice to check your disk on a weekly basis and defrag properly.

Those files can't be defrag because they are contained by use. It happens, zilch to worry just about. To minimize the number of files open, shutdown adjectives programs including those in the system tray. That might free up a few files.
One item I like to do when I defrag is to turn rotten the paging database, so that it can be defraged.

Tie an explosed metal telecommunication to your wrist then tie it to another grounded piece of metal...usually a metal door knob, or something approaching that. That way any static you generate will be transfered to a "ground" and you wont hold the static nor the zap. Also keep within mind that it's more than likely not purely the ribbon but where you are sitting when you're doing it. Make sure you stay away from carpeting and glorious friction objects, things with lots of fibers and rubbers can motive a lot of this static electricity....hope that help.

What's wrong beside my set up?
I only just built a new computer. SMART status say hard drive is unpromising, so I'm going to RMA that from newegg.com. Other than that though, it took literally 5-10 minutes for the windows xp pro cold boot (when u first install the OS on a just this minute built PC) for the Windows Setup to show up (the blue screens). Is there something wrong near my dvd-drive? I'm pretty sure it isn't the motherboard, RAM, CPU or graphics card.

Either way, you can't install until you catch a replacement drive, and that may have cause a slow down.
