Beauty is you can go pro for your price

Buy and apple ibook near ilife which comes with garageband

and you will own the best computer system on the market to boot
A MacBook and Logic Express would be your best choice for intermediate smooth recording. You would also enjoy the option of upgrading to Logic Pro if you ever settle on to go pro. You might not even stipulation Logic Express. The Garageband recording software that comes near every Mac is pretty good. I use it frequently and it does everything I entail. I've been playing guitar for over ten years.

Macbooks start at $1,099 and Logic Express at $299. You're looking at $1,400 for a great cassette system. You can even order your MacBook preloaded near Logic Express. I'm not sure if it's cheaper or not.

Jason P: I agree with you 100%, but the iBook is archaic and has be replaced by the MacBook.
