What is the difference between them as far as facts transfer rate? Would it be difficult to switch out a regular usb port beside a high speed one on a notebook?

It would be difficult to switch them out, but it would be easier to affix a pcmi card with USB 2.0 capability to your computer.



USB 2.0 is backwards compatible and it has difficult transfer rates and is used sometimes to charge devices. If a USB 2.0 be to connect to anything with a 1.x device it will revert to the slower speed. The imaginary speed for 2.0 devices is 480 Megabits per second.



note: Megabits per second, most relatives assume it is MegaBytes per second, when it is closer to 60 MB, but actual transfer speeds can be much slower depending on cpu usage and cable element and the like.



USB 1.0 and 1.1 are elder standards that are much much slower.
