What's the Run command for erasing your Hard Drive?

You see, I'm within the process of reformatting my computer. One day, someone told me the Run command for reformatting the sturdy drive, but I forgot the process and even worse I lose the paper surrounded by which I wrote it down. That's why I'm asking you guys if ya'll can help me.

In operating systems B4 xp its "fdisk".In xp you can format using the window xp cd.
You need a boot floppy or compact disc. You can use format or fdisk commands.



Check out this site for boot disks. The Windows 98 SE boot disk should work fine.

If you are planning on installing an operating system on the drive, the setup process usually includes a format and/or fence section and it will accomplish like peas in a pod thing.
That command is not available contained by Win XP.



Reformatting your hard drive will not completely gain rid of all the previous information. There are several programs out that (not free) that work ably. The one we like to use at work is BCWipe (www.bcwipe.com) That will bring back rid of all the files for always and then reformat afterwards and you should be righteous. If you just erase adjectives the files with BCWipe and next reformat using the WinXp CD during the re-installation, you should be apposite.
