what's the difference between INTEL Pentium D (Dual core) and Intel Core2Duo?

adjectives i know they are dual-core..howe trure that pentiumD is also dual core?

what can u say going on for AMD X2? is it a good dual-core too?

what's the difference between INTEL Pentium D (Dual core) and Intel Core2Duo?

The Pentium D be Intel's first generation dual-core processor. It be essentially two Pentium 4s smashed together, and each core did not communicate economically with respectively other, and it also burned a LOT of heat. The Pentium D is a nice processor if you hold real great cooling for it, however it doesn't stand a fortune against a Core 2 Duo. The Core 2 Duo is better because it is based on a trial core design based on a laptop processor (and even the final Pentium 3 if you turn back that far), so it uses far smaller quantity energy while one more efficient, and faster. Unlike the Pentium D, the two cores contained by the Core 2 Duo are in equal package surrounded by the Processor so they can exchange information far more freely. Studies have shown that a popular Core 2 Duo performs up to 40% faster than the upmost tier Pentium D on multimedia tasks, like music, movies, and games.

The AMD Athlon 64 X2, is a great dual-core for budget consumers, and it can glibly eat a Pentium D for breakfast. However the Core 2 Duo is still newer, faster, and more well-run than any competition.

D Core shares L2 cache, Core 2 Duo does not. You will get better overall rite with the Duo Core 2, the 6600 have 4 Meg L2 Cache, even better. Haven't had much fun next to AMD, seems slower and uses much more power.
