What's the difference between "Simm" or "Dimm" Memory?

and how can i speak about which type my PC uses without taking it apart ?

What's the difference between "Simm" or "Dimm" Memory?

The easiest path to find out what kind of memory you hold is to use http://www.crucial.com and run the memory scanner to tell you what charitable you need.

Make sure you settle attention to the other monikers, as most memory is not listed as "DIMM" anymore because adjectives of the memory these days are "DIMM".

You inevitability to know the type (SDRAM, RDRAM, DDR, DDR2) and the speed (PC2100, PC3200, or 266mhz, 333mhz).
unless its about 10 years dated or older u enjoy dimms ...
SIMM stands for Single Inline Memory Module

DIMM stands for Double (or Dual, cant remember which) Inline Memory Module

unless you have an resourceful Pentium or earlier processor, you hold DIMMs

SIMMs had to be installed 2 at a time to work, DIMMs dont hold that problem
hello..

As far as I can remember, the SIMM memory modules were used slightly a few years ago and you will only enjoy them in your Pc if it is approaching a Pentium one or older! (486 or 386 even!)

At the expiration on their time, SIMMS were 72 pin modules and shorter surrounded by length with bigger chips on the board, and DIMMS have 168 pins and longer too.

Please also remember that there are relatively a few different types of DIMM memory types out there so to be safe and sound, it would be wise to plain the PC and remove one of the modules from your PC and then you will know how to find a match alot easier!

Trust me, you won't break your PC contained by the process! :)

Good Luck.
