i currently hv broadband on my laptop with a speed of 2.7mbp. for eg. if i buy a router near the lowest speed will that change the speed of my broadband?? it shouldnt right cos thats the speed im given.
Whats the difference between a standard wireless router to an finance one?
Unless the speed of the router is lower than your broadband speed it will not thing.
If your router is slower than your broadband then the maximum nouns speed will be the speed of the router.
Even the cheapest routers these days are 802.11g which give a WLAN speed of 54Mbs (but your internet connection will be the speed of your broadband).
The router will not adjustment the speed of your broadband connection.
And I don't know of any routers that can't bar 2.7 mbps
I'm going to guess that the difference in wireless routers is the wireless standard(s) they support. 802.11b/g/n
Standard 802.11g wireless router hold a maximum throughput of 54Mbps.
Advance routers (802.11n) are capable of more than 54Mbps throughput.
With your current broadband speed of 2.7Mbps, you can do fundamentally well w/ 802.11g. Do not capture the old and cheap 802.11b if not your range would be fixed.
