What's the Performance Difference Between a SATA and IDE Hard Drive?
The sata is faster. Here's a chart to show the proof:

Not much. Hard disk facts transfer rate is smaller number than both the SATA and PATA transfer rate. SATA will be for a time faster because hard drives own a cache, and data verbs off the cache can filch advantage of the better bandwidth of SATA.
